Post-update, beta.character.ai's battery optimization is measurably better than the previous version. There is no per-account notification profile — all accounts share the same alert settings. I still open it before I open the competitors.

My experience with beta.character.ai: it rewards the user who spends time dialing in the settings. Offline content marked for download occasionally disappears from the list after a sync. Doesn't cover every edge case but nails the ones I need daily.

Three things keep beta.character.ai on my phone: reliable sync, manageable storage, and the sleep timer. The time zone for scheduled notifications doesn't update automatically after I travel. Sixteen months of use and I still open it every day — that's the real metric.
